The Main Creatures

In the ocean that is my Self –

There are billions of creatures.

The jellyfish which turns my stomach when I am resentful

The crabs who snap when I am angry

The jealous eels,

The restless sea stars.

But, these are not the creatures who jump above the waves most often when I close my eyes to witness.

The hammer-head in me demands empathy and compassion.

The rainbow fish dances, just to make me laugh to myself.

[& I do OFTEN]

And the plankton are everywhere,

Because I want answers!

So, when I am filled with jealous, resentful, restless or angry,

I remember the breadth and depth of my sea,

And look for other creatures

I am a writer with an extremely active imagination. I love learning answers to questions and what makes everything and everyone tick. I am a "Unique case, medically" if nothing else. I am flawed in my extreme aversion to failure (even when "success" isn't good for me,) but have come a long way in ditching the perfectionist mindset. I like people whose default setting toward others is compassion, an open mind, and honesty
