Five Minutes

I am intelligent enough

To get into law school,

While keeping expectations low.

I plan ahead

for the burden to follow.

I work on

scholarships,

Housing,

Reading law textbooks for fun,

In five minute intervals,

Before I lose focus,

and need to reset

Because I have fallen prey

To the trap of the powers that be.

So that I can’t challenge the status quo.

But I can challenge myself,

As I fall, my determination grows,

Alongside my focus.

I am a writer with an extremely active imagination. I love learning answers to questions and what makes everything and everyone tick. I am a "Unique case, medically" if nothing else. I am flawed in my extreme aversion to failure (even when "success" isn't good for me,) but have come a long way in ditching the perfectionist mindset. I like people whose default setting toward others is compassion, an open mind, and honesty
