White Lying

It was a good white cup,

Ceramic with a silicon base.

When I woke up,

and stumbled to the kitchen,

I saw my cup, sitting pristine.

But I forgot to grab it from the island.

When I sat in the kitchen,

I didn’t want to come around & grab it.

So, I grabbed a reacher,

But it didn’t grab the cup,

The cup fell to the floor

Crash, Bing!

Oh, shiii!!t

On 08/21/21,

A good cup lost it’s use,

Died, and could not be mended.

I contemplated lying,

Because I knew better,

And did a stupid thing anyway.

I refuse to be one who lies.

So…

I broke my cup,

because  I didn’t want to take the time.

And I lost a trusted cup.

Have mercy.

I am a writer with an extremely active imagination. I love learning answers to questions and what makes everything and everyone tick. I am a "Unique case, medically" if nothing else. I am flawed in my extreme aversion to failure (even when "success" isn't good for me,) but have come a long way in ditching the perfectionist mindset. I like people whose default setting toward others is compassion, an open mind, and honesty
