Watch me Run

Bag heavily hanging off the back

My walker squeaking under the weight

And just like that

A class is two minutes away,

And several extra hundred feet.

Heeled boots click as I run

And catching on that bulging bag 🎒

“Slow down!” My shoes scream

And time screams back.

“Impressions matter in the law,

And it starts here.”

Click Click, trip!

Trip trip, click!

Stop to huff,

And pray to protect my face!

Stop before crossing the finish line,

Breathe and calm down.

Walk in like, smooth as peppermint pudding.

I am a writer with an extremely active imagination. I love learning answers to questions and what makes everything and everyone tick. I am a "Unique case, medically" if nothing else. I am flawed in my extreme aversion to failure (even when "success" isn't good for me,) but have come a long way in ditching the perfectionist mindset. I like people whose default setting toward others is compassion, an open mind, and honesty

  1. Another killer! You’ve got a book of poems going here Ms. Lawyer-to-be! A poignant truth in showing your immobility rather than telling about it. You label it humor. A generous label. A Herculean effort and not for naught. Something too rare & wondrous is happening here. Kudos Misty😘
