Up Hill Both Ways

Is real, right now.

Even when I am not walking.

A Human invention,

Fueled by no effort.

Because effort is costly.

But the bliss of ignorance,

Will wear thin and implode.

We are slowly coming to focus

As the smoke and shrapnel come to rest.

Because we have trained,

All our lives going up mountains,

Without “functional” bodies or minds

our compassion, persistence, creativity, and questions

Are strong enough, to erode mountains

Even if we should not have to.

I am a writer with an extremely active imagination. I love learning answers to questions and what makes everything and everyone tick. I am a "Unique case, medically" if nothing else. I am flawed in my extreme aversion to failure (even when "success" isn't good for me,) but have come a long way in ditching the perfectionist mindset. I like people whose default setting toward others is compassion, an open mind, and honesty
