It’s Time

I have been practicing

For years.

Learning to put on shoes,

Clothes,

doesn’t sound hard,

And I’m 32.

But,

Cerebral Palsy changes everything,

And defines nothing.

When the messages was always

“impossible, too hard” from the outside.

my mind invited it, and its buddies, inside and fed them.

It took 30 years for me

to kick those ideas out .

To begin practicing,

And discovering,

The promise of the possible.

And today,

The first fruit of success,

Is ripening today.

I am a writer with an extremely active imagination. I love learning answers to questions and what makes everything and everyone tick. I am a "Unique case, medically" if nothing else. I am flawed in my extreme aversion to failure (even when "success" isn't good for me,) but have come a long way in ditching the perfectionist mindset. I like people whose default setting toward others is compassion, an open mind, and honesty
