Outside Ourselves

It’s hard to picture

The girl in the picture

In the mirror.

It’s funny

when she saw the world

She saw a challenge,

Where I see an obstacle course.

Overcome the challenge,

Survive the obstacles.

All the difference.

Different approach,

Different voice,

Different attack-

The difference between

Faith

And hope.

The chasm of one step.

Even though,

If I saw her injustice on the street,

I would consume it,

Holding her warm

Within my flame.

I know her to well though,

I sprouted out of her favorite

3 teddies in tutus shirt.

Up through her nightmares

And darkness reality.

She is six feet under-

My mind

I hope I can remember her,

that she feeds the garden of thought

Even if I have to dig her up

With pictures on old pages,

Because she is beautiful,

Because we are worth every chance

To overcome a challenge

I am a writer with an extremely active imagination. I love learning answers to questions and what makes everything and everyone tick. I am a "Unique case, medically" if nothing else. I am flawed in my extreme aversion to failure (even when "success" isn't good for me,) but have come a long way in ditching the perfectionist mindset. I like people whose default setting toward others is compassion, an open mind, and honesty
